Chris Korte

A former Archbishop Jordan High School teacher, Chris holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. He taught Mathematics and Leadership for 20 years, working with government departments and educational associations for many of those years on a local, provincial, and national level. In addition to his role as Advico’s Group Services Specialist, with expertise spanning from RRSPs to group health plans, Chris continues to be an actively involved community leader – as both a Business Network member and through his work with the Bev Facey Football Parents group.

Chris grew up in the northern Alberta town of Peace River and attended Glenmary High School, graduating in 1982. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharleen, in 1984 while attending the University of Alberta, where he obtained a Bachelor of Education degree. After teaching high school mathematics and leadership in the communities of Wainwright and Sherwood Park for 20 years, he then worked part-time in the financial services sector for four years before changing careers in 2007 to pursue his dream of owning his own business.

As a founding partner of Advico, Chris uses his experiences as a foundation for his own one-stop financial services business. In addition to providing Advico’s full range of products and services – investments, insurance, living benefits and retirement planning – Chris specializes in group insurance, mutual funds and associations. This allows Chris to give his clients a well-rounded perspective that is both experienced and informed.

Chris and Sharleen have lived in Sherwood Park since 1991 and have three children – Amanda, Michael, and Stephanie.
